SAIL Computer Operation

During the first three decades, SAIL's record-keepping was done entirely by hand utilizing time cards. Race results for each swimmer were recorded on a card that followed them throughout the meet. The cards were sorted by age group and time to determine the winners and the seeding for the next meet.

After a few attempts at using spreadsheets, SAIL selected the Easy Team/Meet Manager software for organizing and compiling the results. Easy Team Manager and Easy Meet Manager II are two separate software applications designed to complement each other.

Easy Team Manager is used to create team rosters, enter event entries, and acts as a repository for each swimmers actual times for each event and meet. Easy Team Manager is also used to print various administrative reports such as team rosters, mailing labels, history reports, etc.

Easy Meet Manager is used to run the swim meets. Swim meet data is imported from the competing teams into Easy Meet Manager. Easy Meet Manager is used to seed the meet, create lane cards & heat sheets, and to enter the times for each meet. Easy Meet Manager is also used to produce awards labels, meet results, and a data file for the Greenville Newspaper.

A Computer Operator Manual is provided with step-by-step procedures for both Easy Team and Easy Meet, and should be helpful throughout your swim team season. The following data files are available with the event list already entered:

  • EVENTS.EM2 - an event list you can import into Easy Meet for a regular weekly meet
  • EV071004.EM2 - an event list to use for Divisionals Only!
