Senior Scholarship Program 2008

SAIL is pleased to announce that at the conclusion of the 2008 season a male and female senior swimmer will be awarded a college scholarship of $1,000.

Greenville First Bank has generously donated funds to make these awards possible.

Candidates

All Seniors are asked to submit an essay on "What SAIL Has Meant To Me" to be received on or before Sunday at noon of Divisionals weekend. Any essays received after this deadline will not be considered.

Scholarship awards will be made during the Classics swim meet. SAIL Reps of winning swimmers will be notified before hand to ensure the attendance of winners and their families.

Criteria for scholarship award:

  • Must have at least three years SAIL Experience (competed for any SAIL team for the 2006, 2007 & 2008 summers)
  • Must be college bound senior swimmer
  • Must submit an essay on "What SAIL Has Meant To Me"
  • Recommendation of the swimmer's coach in the areas of sportsmanship, leadership, mentoring of younger swimmers, and team spirit
  • nomination must be co-signed by the SAIL Representative
  • complete application form

NOT Criteria for candidacy:

  • Swimming ability/accomplishment
  • Academic grades

SAIL Reps and coaches are responsible to:

  • make sure all Seniors know about the scholarship
  • provide signed endorsement letter
